HVAC Technician Duties And Responsibilities:
HVAC Technicians have several responsibilities. Depending on the specifics of a job, their primary duty is to either maintain systems or install new units. In fact, most HVAC Technicians spend much of their time alternating between these two roles.

Qualifications:
You don’t need a college degree to become an HVAC Technician. However, you do need the proper certificates such as your EPA. (Refrigeration is a plus)
1-3 years HVAC installation experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
Must have an honest and dependable personality.
Strong ability to distinguish between various HVACs equipment.
Self-motivated individual with strong ability to follow instructions and work alone, as well as work effectively within a team.
Ability to display professional company image.
Responsibilities:
Removing old systems
Installing new systems
Performing routine maintenance
Ordering and maintaining equipment
Running pipe and duct systems through homes
Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams
Knowing how to interpret various technical data, such as pressure and temperature
Training junior team members
Communicating with clients and customers
Perform installation of HVAC related equipment following company policies and manufacturer’s specifications
Carry out wiring of both low and line voltage to cooling and heating equipment
Perform installation of copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including brazing, and soldering
Perform installation of flex and sheet metal duct systems in light commercial and residential buildings
Ensure connection of gas lines to heating equipment is properly done
Determine the right material needed for installation work by pre-measuring jobs
Receive all materials and equipment required for each job, confirm, and load them into company vehicle
Provide necessary support to other team members to be able to complete tasks on time as instructed by management
Create and maintain cordial and collaborative working relationships with both superiors and co-workers
Ensure all paperwork needed for each job is accurately filled out
Carry out readings on machines with the full understanding of the implication of such readings
Ensure assigned company vehicle is kept clean
Perform any other duty that may be directed by management.

Refrigeration Technician Responsibilities:

Refrigeration Technician Requirements:

Previous experience as a refrigeration technician.

A Parts Runner serves by delivering material to Service Techs/ Installers to job sites. They may also have to provide aid to install/service when going to the job sites.
Daily Tasks:
Delivers parts to technicians.
Ensures that areas of the parts department are properly stocked.
Assists the service department by aiding the technicians/install.
Picks up and/or delivers parts to designated accounts when instructed.
Checks with the office daily to verify if the parts are available to the job sites or office supplies needing to be picked up.
Ensures the cleanliness of the parts department by disposing of used boxes and trash, sweeping floors and dusting parts bins daily.
Crates all cores for shipment back to the manufacturer when part has been replaced.
Other tasks as assigned.
